Charity Fun

For a number of years SHC have organised staff events that double as charity fund raisers. We started with sponsored walks, barbeques and cabaret evenings.

Since 2003 we have raised over £100,000. This has involved white water rafting and sponsored cycle expeditions in Vietnam, China, India and Spain.

In July 2010 we had a Fun Day & BBQ at Reuters Restaurant and Bar in Southport. Half of the proceeds went to the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal and half to the Derian House Children’s Hospice Appeal. Prizes included plasma TV donated by Style Environments of Southport, a luxury limo donated by MD Travel of Southport, a £300 jewellery voucher donated by Michael Bakerman of Diamonds Direct Southport, a meal for 4 including a bottle of Moet Chandon donated by Reuters and Garry donated a weeks stay his 3 bedroom villa in Span which auctioned for over £900.

Walk in aid of SUAG

All the participants who took part in our annual sponsored walk in aid of SUAG a home for paraplegic people in Weld Road, Southport - we raised approximately £1500 by walking 6 miles around Southport Marine lake. This was followed by a party for all walkers at Alter Ego bar in Southport who kindly put on a free buffet for all participants. It was a great day and the money will be really appreciated as the home has a target of raising £40 000 a year to survive.

Last year we raised over £3000 for the Alder Hey Imagine appeal and Derian House Hospice for children. It was a great day with approximately 150 people joining in the fun and the food which was kindly donated by Rob and Ally of Reuters was much appreciated and the day a huge success.
