Neil Rice Workshops

Neil Rice is joining us again for 2 further inspirational hairdressing workshops. The team are looking forward to working with and learning from Neil again.

The first is on 8th August, 9.15am – 12.30.

The second is on 3rd October, 9.15am – 12.30.

Charity Fun Day 11th September

This will be held at Reuters on Houghton and promises to be a great family fund day. Food will be donated Rob and Ally of Reuters and entertainment provided by Loius Rockerfella, Merseyside’s No 1 Elvis impersonator. There will an auction and raffle and all proceeds will be donated to SUAG, a home for paraplegic men on Weld Road, Birkdale. For more information & tickets please contact Garry on 01704 548881.

Salon International Expo

In October the gang will be off to London to visit the Salon International Expo at Canary Wharf. This is always a great date in our diary as it gives us the opportunity to mingle with the world’s great hairdressers.

June Photoshoot

Our recent photo shoot was organised by John and Mark from our Eastbank salon with help from their assistant Becky, photos were by Gavin Allexander of Formby, the results are fabulous and are going to be used in our new promotional material. The models  - Andrea Lesbirrel and Louise Pert looked great and a fab day was had by all.

Miss Rockin Asia 2011.

SHC recently sponsored and styled all the hair for the contestants of Merseyside’s most prestigious beauty competition, Miss Rockin Asia. The heats were held throughout Winter in Southport’s Rockin Asia bar, with the Grand Final held at the prestigious 5 Star Vincent Hotel, on Lord Street, Southport. The winner was Miss Andrea Lesbirel of Southport. Many congratulations..

Neil Rice Creative Hairdressing Workshop

In November and January we invited top Liverpool stylist Neil Rice into our salon to work alongside our team and pass on some of his fantastic fashion tips and opinions on up and coming trends within our industry. Neil worked alongside Garry in the 90’s and in Garry’s opinion is one of the most exceptional hair dressers around in Liverpool today. Neil is always bursting with fresh ideas as well as fantastic technical ability and runs one of Liverpool’s leading up and coming hairdressing salons.

Based on the staff reaction to Neil’s sessions, he will join us again in March to build on the work we have already done and further advance the creativity and inspiration of our hairdressing team.

Salon International Hair & Beauty Expo – Here We Go….

In October, the Spencer team made their annual trip to the Excel conference centre in Canary Wharf in London. The team stayed for 2 nights at the world’s largest hair and beauty expo.

During the trip we met up with celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas, of One Show fame, who currently looks after several major celebrities on the London circuit. Michael is a close personal friend of Garry and worked in the Hill Street salon when it first opened. It was great to see him and we are looking forward to him coming up to work with our hairdressing teams in 2011.

This yearly trip is always a great success and leaves the team brimming with fresh and funky hairdressing ideas from the fashion capital.

Bruno Giamattei In Salon Seminar

This world renowned hairdresser and owner of six salons in the London area visited us in June to share some of his secrets of success. Bruno is head of British FAME team and is a truly inspirational hairdresser.

The day was a great success. It started with demos on 3 in house models. Bruno showed some edgy new techniques in both hair colouring and cutting as well as speaking inspirationally about his passion and love of the hair dressing industry.

The afternoon session was a chance for ten of our team to create alongside Bruno, producing a cut and hair colour of their choice. They day was a resounding success, with all of our staff desperate to get back into the salon the next day to create some of the new looks they have learned.

Maureen Nash Bridal Hair Training Day

In November we had a fantastic bridal / long hair training workshop with hair up expert, Maureen Nash. It was an exceptional day and left all of our team brimming with fresh ideas about hair up and bridal looks.

Maureen has fantastic knowledge in this area of hair dressing and left all of the group extremely motivated. Maureen will be joining us again in February for a follow up session which we simply can’t wait for.

Major Salon Refit

An SHC salon refit programme will be rolled out in 2012. Each of our hair salons will receive a facelift, with our Hill Street salon having a complete salon refit including chairs mirrors etc. The main aim of this is to keep us one step ahead of the competition and show our clients that we are continually investing in the company to keep them in the stylish environment we think they deserve. Also, new clients will also see that we not only create contemporary hair styles but do so in surroundings.
